  • We use a simple Velcro strap to prevent the front wheel from spinning and the handlebar from moving during transport. The Velcro strap can also be used to lock the rear wheel if necessary.

  • Some vehicles offer factory tow-hitches through their dealers. U-Haul and some local body shops offer third-party tow-hitch installation when the factory hitch isn't available. We'll help you find an installer, please contact us.

  • There is a security loop that a user can feed their own bicycle chain or security cable through, securing the bike rack and bicycle together. We recommend a locking hitch pin if you're going to leave your bike and bike rack unattended to prevent the theft of both the rack and the bicycle.

  • It's made from high-quality aluminum for its lightweight and strength characteristics. There are also rubber and durable plastic parts for interfacing with the bike without damaging the finish.

  • It's been tested in a variety of environments and is weatherproof. For long-term storage, we recommend keeping the bike rack covered or indoors. Leaving the bike rack outside will reduce the lifespan of the rubber components.

  • We've personally tested the Dragonfly Rack over thousands of miles of driving on real roads in Southern California using our personal road bikes, mountain bikes, and time-trial bikes as guinea pigs. We've encountered numerous potholes, speed bumps, emergency braking, highways, parking garages, curbs, and more. The longest single trip we've done was 340 miles holding two bikes (time-trial and road bike) without any issues.

  • Yes, we hold U.S. and international patents for the Dragonfly Rack.

  • No, the V-block is made from durable plastics that won't scratch aluminum or steel pedals. The cradle is made from a soft rubber to prevent abrasions against the downtube of your bicycle. Excessive debris from mud or dirt could affect the finish of your bike. We recommend wiping the bottom of your downtube before using the Dragonfly Rack if there is excessive debris on your frame. Should you want further peace of mind, protective frame tape is also an option for those who ride in mud or off-road regularly.

  • We are exploring a 1.25" tow-hitch version of the Dragonfly Rack. In the meantime, a 1.25" to 2" tow-hitch adapter is what we recommend.

  • We recommend using a Velcro strap to secure the front wheel, which also locks the handlebars into position, preventing them from swinging during transport.
